Surprise! Sample Time
Aug. 16th, 2019 01:24 pmIt's a quiet, peaceful day here in the city...or at least it was until a monster came crashing through a nearby building. Fortunately for everyone in the nearby area, the monster isn't exactly alone. A silver-clad figure is in hot pursuit of the monster. He's got a sword, he knows how to use it, and he is most displeased that this fight has erupted into a populated area.
"Get out of here, quickly!" The man in silver has absolutely no qualms about fighting this monster comprised of various movie-themed parts, but boy does he not want any bystanders to get hurt. "I'll handle this!"

"In all my years, I've never seen a Debo Monster quite as incompetent as you've been," Torin sniffs. "I don't even think you could throw me back out that hole you made. You haven't the strength." He's making no move to raise his weapon again. The helmet makes it difficult to tell where he's looking, and he's studiously trying to avoid looking at the child.
"Why you--!" The monster waves its arms around a bit before charging at Torin. "You'll be nothing but cut footage when I'm through with you!" And it charges at the silver-clad warrior, away from the child.

Lottie, meanwhile, sits in her crib very still, figuring that the safest thing for her to do right now is wait and watch. Wait and watch tends to be a good option most of the time.

Which with them moving around is, of course, more likely.

"Don't answer him!" Torin sees where this is going, and he does not like it.

Date: 2019-08-29 09:47 am (UTC)It can be a bit hard to judge sometimes if she should answer direct questions or not, she
is too young still to really get the rules surrounding that, at least not to their entirety - especially because she has to learn the human rules and the fae rules of this at the same time. And they are quite different.
But right now, staying silent still seems to be the best option.
So she just clings to Louise. Who whispers to Lottie "get out" and takes a step forward towards the monster.
Lottie follows the instructions once her Fetch moves and starts scurrying away, crawling at high speed despite her age suggesting a more bipedal way of fast locomotion, moving across the floor and up a wall in the direction of where the monster and its opponent came into the room originally. There's a nice hole there that one can climb out of, after all. And with her actual body, hidden under the Mask of being just a normal toddler, it's easier to get to high speeds on all four.
Louise, meanwhile, glares at the monster. "Tell me," she addresses it, "do you dream?" There isn't much of a point to this. She mostly wants to distract it, and that was the first thing that came to mind. She needs to move a bit, now without Lottie on her shadow stepping away will be easier...
